However I always get sick of hearing the negative jabs at the intervention/assisted births, with a romantisised view of “natural” unassisted births. Considering 800 women die each day in pregnancy and childbirth (which is usually preventable), and “natural” birth is very very very painful (and all that pain could be prevented), i can only think this attitude stems from being antifemale.

My c section birth was as personal, messy and exciting as my vaginal one, thank you very much!

There’s a lot to like in the midwife paradigm and it has many congruencies with the ‘Ambassador’ paradigm used in the New Testament.
I think ambassador one suits the predicament of the church across the global board better.
Even so there are some aspects worth taking on board.
