I need to be reminded so often that our trouble here isn’t the definition of us or our lives, that our enemies are actually already overcome, and so much more. And I live a life of ease in whole world terms.

This is so good. I immediately think of Sean Connery’s voice as Paul in the opening scene:) I don’t know why.

It occurs to me that the point here is a good one for anyone that preaches and teaches to people. Everyone listening is probably in some state of “needing to be reminded.” Being a part of the bigger story helps us all carry on in our smaller parts of the epic. If women and men would preach from this mindset, to remind rather than just teach knowledge, I suspect they would keep people ears in tune for 30-40 min. “Church” might take on a whole different meaning.

After my own last week, thanks for the reminder! I needed that.

Thanks Mike, I am more and more convinced of the need for our churches to reconnect with the person on Jesus and his simple and yet profound message. It would be easy to get discouraged driving 200km+ to meet with another group of leaders and speak at another service where there are any number of issues – but it’s not about them, or me, it’s about him – Jesus and his way, and his message and whether I am living that out.

At the moment I am a weary battle fatigued disciple in leadership. It is good to be reminded that I am not alone, firstly because I follow a risen Lord and secondly I am also following in the footsteps of other disciples who have gone before and have remained faithful to Gods call.
