I think the picture doesn’t reveal the meaning it’s a kundalini chakra with depiction of the snake going through the body… I am sure you possibly could have found a better choice.. Interesting topic but feeling a bit hesitant to truly participate fully…

I started seeing God’s work in my life in a deeper way when my first child was still-born in 1994. Those wounds and others still hurt and it’s a struggle to see them as “gifts.” But I have experienced the gift of God’s presence and perspective and a renewed assurance that his love can be felt no matter what happens.

Yes, sometimes, a possible reason for certain wounds might be so we might be the catalyst for change, so others might no longer be harmed as we were. Or, at least, find help & aid where we did not.
After all, personal experience is one of the best motivators.

I’m currently going through the grief of a marriage breakdown and your article was direct from God’s heart to mine.

This was the second time in as many days.
Yesterday I read of the Japanese Art of Kintsugi (or kintsukuroi) is a Japanese method for repairing broken ceramics with a special lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. The philosophy behind the technique is to recognize the history of the object and to visibly incorporate the repair into the new piece instead of disguising it.

Thanks so much for blessing me this way this morning.

Kind regards, Karen

Thank you for putting the words and thoughts together. One of the most impactful classes I’ve taken at Fuller was “Theology of Suffering and Joy” where we pressed very hard into this subject. And from personal experience-while I certainly don’t “enjoy” anything that is anti-shalom-I grow the most in my faith, my rootedness in Him deepens the most in times of struggle. The difficult part is, that in the midst of lifes storms and brokenness it is often really really hard to see or feel or experience the goodness of God, but if we remember who our God is and what he has experienced through the cross and through the continued vandalism of His good creation, then we will very much know and understand that He is in the depths on our pain and hurt right along with us.

And if we tune in to the very subtle nature of the way He works, we can feel and hear the groaning of creation in the midst of our wounds and struggles, and we can hear His tender, loving voice say, “I am here with you,” and that IS most certainly a gift.

Again and again you show the way of wisdom. Thanks for this. I’m praying a certain friend will find this as good news

As I struggle with why God has not protected the sweet “foster” babies He has had in our lives for three years, this reminded me that the pain that they experience may be what God uses in their lives to bring them to Him and also to use them in future lives they encounter. Hope!
