I have encouraged Christians to be involved in those efforts regardless if they do not believe in the Lord. Everyone is motivated by something different and it is an opportunity to share with those who may not believe in a creator what motivates me a believer to take care of the planet He has given us to enjoy.

Well said Michael. That God saw fit to refrain from completely destroying the earth millennia ago in Noah’s time speaks of God’s love for his creation. This includes his pinnacle of creation, us, and we have sorely let him down. Yes we must take this seriously.

As a young Christian, I was helped through the written & spoken ministry of Francis Schaeffer in the early 70s. I needed a dictionary on hand at all times. His book Death In The City was very moving and more manageable & Pollution And The Death Of Man sobering, and the first serious book I read by a believer on caring for the created order. You have drawn our attention to a very important subjecr.
